Looking for more ways to ride around South Bend and Michiana? Our area has a variety of group rides, clubs, and cycling events for riders of different experience levels.

We’ve put together this page as a resource to help connect people with opportunities to get out and ride.

Below you’ll find links to local organizations and groups that regularly organize rides throughout the South Bend–Mishawaka area and surrounding communities.

Please note: Unless specifically identified as an SBBG event, these rides are organized by independent community groups and are not sponsored, managed, or supervised by South Bend Bike Garage. Ride schedules, routes, requirements, and other details are determined by the individual organizers.

• Monday | 6pm | Michiana Bicycle Association (MBA) Leisure Ride from Pinhook Park (2801 Riverside Drive, South Bend) | Fun leisurely ride to Niles on the bike trail.

• Monday | 6pm | Spin Zone Cycling Outfitters hosts a ride from the store at 51345 Bittersweet Road, Granger). Contact them for more information on distance/speed, etc.

• Tuesday | 9am | Michiana Bicycle Association morning rides with various routes | visit their website at mbabike.com for a calendar of start locations and maps!

• Tuesday | 6:15pm | for the mountain/fat-bike riders | Pachyderm Pedalers - Stevensville, MI Chapter hosts a bi-weekly "Trail Mix Tuesday" ride at the Lakeview Trail (750 Monte Road, Benton Harbor) for 7.5 miles on the trail with beverage/food/socialization following at Livery!

• Wednesday | 6pm | Michiana Bicycle Association with various routes | visit their website at mbabike.com for a calendar of start locations and maps!

• Thursday | 6:10-6:30pm | South Bend Rollout | parking lot across from ProForm Bike Shop (520 E LaSalle Avenue, South Bend) | fast group (40 miles/20mph) rolls promptly at 6:10pm; others leave following with the "F" group stopping for photos and fun along the way. Various pre-selected social location after the ride.

• Saturday | 9am | Michiana Bicycle Association morning rides with various routes | visit their website at mbabike.com for a calendar of start locations and maps!

• Sunday | 9am | Michiana Bicycle Association morning rides with various routes | visit their website at mbabike.com for a calendar of start locations and maps!

• Sunday | 11am | Ride RSJ Sunday Morning Group Ride | River Saint Joe (15475 Walton Road, Buchanan)

In addition to group rides every week, there are many larger rides held throughout the riding season-- usually to help fund many of the worthwhile charities in the area.

 

Here are just a few held in Michiana:

• Amishland and Lakes | LaGrange Indiana | Sponsored by the Michiana Bicycle Association, a local bicycle club that supports many biking initiatives in Michiana- including the South Bend Bike Garage! | Saturday/Sunday, July 25/26 | Ride through Amish country and experience the buggies and friendly Amish community!

• The Beer:30 | Held in Stevensville (Michigan) and sponsored by the Pachyderm Pedalers - Stevensville, MI Chapter to benefit Cycle-Re-Cycle in Benton Harbor (a bike coop, much like our own SBBG) | Saturday, September 12 | 30 miles of riding with stops at local breweries and cider houses! A tasting cup is included in the price of registration!

• Love Biketober Fest | Held at Love Creek Nature Center & County Park near Berrien Springs, Michigan | This is a great ride with fabulous Octoberfest-type food following the ride. Love Biketober Fest supports Bike Michiana Coalition which benefits many of the bike safety programs in the area.
